Carlos Pérez - Founder & Tour Director
For more than 30 years, Carlos Pérez has dedicated his life to exploring, guiding, and sharing the natural wonders of Costa Rica.
His experience has taken him throughout the country, from the extraordinary waterways and wildlife of Tortuguero to Manuel Antonio, Corcovado, La Fortuna, Guanacaste, and many other iconic destinations. Over the years, he has developed an in-depth knowledge of Costa Rica’s landscapes, wildlife, culture, and the experiences that make each destination unique.
Tortuguero holds a particularly special place in his heart. After decades of working in the region, Carlos knows its canals, trails, wildlife, and natural rhythms intimately. But beyond knowing the destinations, he understands how to create meaningful experiences for the people who visit them.
Samay Expeditions is the realization of that passion and a lifelong dream: to share the Costa Rica Carlos knows and loves with travelers from around the world.
